Kirk (Colorado) first arrived in Costa Rica in 1995 for what was supposed to be a three-month kayaking trip. He got hired to be a rafting guide and safety kayaker the second day in the country and the rest is history.
Johanna (Costa Rican) whom has a master’s degree in international Trade and Marketing and Sales moved to Turrialba to open a Firestone Manufacturing plant.
After meeting in Turrialba and getting married, they started this adventure by buying Pacuare River Lodge. It has been a never-ending project since.
